Keone, Dogpatch Pet Shop's Official Greeter!

Keone
hatched in 1980 and was hand fed by a couple in Richardson Texas.Wee
got him in 1993. Keone means John in Hawaiian. He is a DNA sexed male
Honduran Yellow Nape Amazon Parrot. The Texas couple aquired Keone on
their honeymoon in San Francisco. He still sometimes sings "I left my
heart in San Francisco, and is known to say "Left my heart"
Being
a very courteous greeter, he says "Thanks and Bye" when customers leave
the store. He also says "I got it" or "Dogpatch" when the phone rings
and proceeds to carry on a one-sided conversation. He often laughs and
chuckles under his breath.
His primary function remains
interacting with the customers, and this he does the best. Some
customers can rub his head but be cautious because like any wild animal
he could bite. Although he is heard saying "I won't bite" in a sweet
voice.
He loves bananas, apples, oranges, carrots, beans and cornbread. Sometime baked chicken (but we tell him it's FISH :) )
Keone has been a part of Dogpatch for many years and we are glad to have him.
Lawrence still handles Keone frequently as he did for this Photo Shoot.
Come by and see Keone for yourself.
